Gypsy Roma Creative Change
Artworks invited Bryony to deliver a 12 week project in partnership with Horton Housing for female Roma gypsy and their families living in Bradford. The project aimed to reduce social isolation and fear, improve social cohesion and mental health. Through a variety of visual art and creative movement activities, the participants explored their cultural identity and belonging, improving their health awareness and physical fitness as well as finding support for parenting, employment, numeracy, literacy and IT skills.
Activities included movement, guided breathing, massage exercises, felt making, rug weaving, mark making, printing and healthy food preparation. The project included a group trip to Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The project continues until 2015.
